  • Lake Nakuru National Park

Only a short drive from Nairobi, this gem of a park is situated on a picturesque alkaline lake and offers an unparalleled diversity of landforms and wildlife. In addition to rare species like rhinos and the endangered Rothschild's giraffe, visitors to Lake Nakuru National Park may see a variety of exotic birds. Look out for lions, leopards, and cheetahs while on safari. It's all here in this special reserve.

Nakuru is a picture-perfect combination of acacia forests, waterfalls, woodlands, and unique euphorbia trees, all nestled under towering rocky escarpments, aside from the lake. Look for hyenas, monkeys, baboons, wild dogs, hippopotamuses, and even pythons hanging from the trees in these stunning settings, where you can discover an unexpected diversity of wildlife!

The Park has two distinct rainfall seasons: the long rainy season, which lasts from February to May, and the short rainy season, which runs from November to December. The dry season lasts from late June to October. Its elevation is between 850 and 2000 meters, and its average yearly rainfall is between 650 and 760 mm.
