Tarangire offers something for everyone, whether you are coming for a day trip or staying the night. The park is one of the best places in East Africa to go birdwatching and is renowned for having an abundance of wild animals, particularly elephants.
The Tarangire River, which traverses the park and spans 2850 km2, is the source of the park's name.
Tarangire has a bimodal rainfall with short rains starting from November to December, long rains from March to May and dry season from June to October and January to February. The park is located at an altitude between 900m and 1250meters with annual average rainfall ranging from 650 to 700mm.
Once you're at Tarangire National Park, you can engage in a variety of activities. Some of these activities are hot air balloon safari, birdwatching, bird watching, walking safari, filming and photographing, bush meal, day and night game drives, and picnics.
The park boasts a plethora of amazing attractions, including herds of elephants, breathtaking savannah scenery, and magnificent baobabs. The park is home to over 550 different bird species, many of which are endemic or in danger of extinction.
