The Euphorbia tirucalli plant, which grows over 648.7 km2 and is known as Emanyara in Maasai language, is the source of the park's name.

Your safari to this region will be unforgettable because of the rich greenery that includes the towering ground water forest trees, the lions that climb trees, the soda lake that is home to thousands of pink-hued flamingos, large water birds, troops of baboons and blue monkeys, and the rift valley escarpment.

The Park has two distinct rainfall seasons: the long rainy season, which lasts from February to May, and the short rainy season, which runs from November to December. The dry season lasts from late June to October. Its elevation is between 850 and 2000 meters, and its average yearly rainfall is between 650 and 760 mm.
