Day 3: Drive Mgahinga National Park via Lake Bunyoni, overnight at the Lodge
Day 4: Full day exploration at Mgahinga National Park, overnight at the lodge
Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala or to Entebbe airport
Our professional driver guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you on a 6-7 hour trip to Bwindi Forest National Park, passing through the county side. Arrive at your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay while your route, taking in sights of the park's lush foliage. Lodge at Chameleon Hill.
Get up early, eat breakfast, and drive to the park headquarters for a briefing on park policies before you begin tracking the primates. You will track the gorillas for three to five hours in groups of eight under the guidance of an experienced, armed park ranger. You will only be able to spend an hour with the gorillas while you are taking different types of memories-preserving photos. Make your way back to the lodge for dinner and a night. After a hearty breakfast in the hotel, head to Lake Bunyonyi in your swimming suits, have a safari canoe ride there, and then, a few hours later, take a safari vehicle drive to Mgahinga National Park for a late-afternoon game drive. Dinner and the night before. Lodge at Mount Gahinga.
Before breakfast, take a dawn game drive in the park until about ten in the morning, then return to the lodge for a full breakfast. After a short break, you can choose to change into trekking attire and go on a culturally guided nature walk with your local guide to the Batwa local communities that have settled near the park. This will give you an inside look at African traditional life as you participate in a variety of local customs through music, dance, and drama. At the lodge for dinner and the night.
After waking up and eating breakfast, pack your bags and head to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport to catch your journey home.
